Often times basements are predominantly underground, causing moisture build-up that is both unhealthy & dirty. There are four common methods to fighting the moisture:

1. Install an exterior wall exhaust fan & separate intake louver/damper that will present cross ventilation to dry out the air.

2. Install a heat recovery ventilation (HRV) system that includes a filtered air handler w/ ductwork that essentially performs similar to option #1, but is more efficient.

3. Install a portable dehumidifier.

4. Install the Lennox Humiditrol central air conditioning / dehumidification system that utilizes more pinpoint controls, high efficient air conditioning & dehumidification equipment & ductwork.

The Lennox Humiditrol system is a great component to add-on to your ducted heating & air conditioning system. It is not everday that you need air conditioning, but frequently find your space w/ unwanted humidity. An air conditioning system will not continue to dehumidify your space if it reaches the set temperature on your thermostat but there is high humidity. The Humiditrol continues to operate even if the air conditioning component cycles off to reach your desired relative humidity.
